Kursu water and fish
The cooperative's task is to take care of the administration of the water area belonging to the cooperative and the management of matters concerning the area. The owners of the properties who have a share in the common area belong to the association. The right to a share appears from the real estate register extract obtained from the land surveying office.
The board of trustees, elected annually at the shareholders' meeting, takes care of the practical activities of the shareholders' association.

The cooperative manages fishing waters and sells fishing permits in its area.
​
The Kursu cooperative includes a water area of 625.9 ha and there are 6 lakes in which the cooperative has a water area. Kursujärvi or Kotijärvi, Keskijärvi, Pääjärvi, Tuurajärvi, Peräjärvi, Lätäjärvi and part of Käsmäjoki.

The course's shareholders belong to the Ylikemi fishing area.

- In 2019, Jyrhämälammi's outdoor recreation area and an accessible fishing spot, which can be used freely in the summer season, were built on the beach of Tuurakoski (an old sawmill). In the area there is a boat launch, a shelter, a fireplace and a barrier-free huussi. To fish in the area, you need to pay the state fishing management fee and a lure fishing permit from the association.

- Angling and ice fishing are prohibited in the rapids and currents of the migratory fish water area, and the prohibition also applies to the owner of the water area and the holder of the fishing right. In addition, lure fishing is prohibited in rapids and streams without the permission of the owner of the water area or the fishing right holder (Section 7 of the Fisheries Act).
